Privacy

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Gomoku2D is a local-first browser game. Most play data stays in your browser. Google sign-in is optional and currently powers experimental cloud profile features.

Information stored locally

When you play as a guest, Gomoku2D stores your display name, preferred rule setting, and local match history in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device unless you clear it, reset your local profile, or later choose a cloud promotion feature.

Information stored for cloud profiles

If you sign in with Google, Gomoku2D may store a private cloud profile in Firebase/Firestore. That profile can include your Google account identifier, display name, email address, avatar URL, provider IDs, preferred rule setting, and login/update timestamps.

Google sign-in

Google handles authentication. Gomoku2D does not receive or store your Google password. Google may process sign-in data according to Google's own privacy policy and account settings.

Analytics and advertising

Gomoku2D does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or sell user data.

Alpha cloud features

Online profiles are an alpha/beta feature. Cloud data may be reset while the backend foundation is still being built.

Data deletion

You can clear local data from the Profile screen by resetting the local profile, or by clearing site data in your browser. Until self-service cloud deletion ships, request cloud profile deletion by emailing gomoku2d@byebyebryan.com.
